The 8-425 are standard vials for GC and HPLC and are designed to work in a broad variety of autosamplers requiring narrow neck vials. Vials are preferentially used on instruments from the following manufacturers: Beckman, CTC, Gilson, Knauer, Shimadzu, Spark, Varian, VWR, Hitachi, etc. ˜ 32 x 12 mm, 2ml, screw neck. ˜ St anda rd now eck siz .
Sample Vials Wide selection of vials, including HPLC Certified vials (tested by HPLC for cleanliness) and LCMS Certified vials (tested for total ion count and presence of clusters in the high mass range). These are the cleanest vials in the industry.
Screw-top vials also come in different sizes, with vial caps made of either aluminum for crimp seals or plastic. Amber glass vials are available in 2-60 ml volume with a screw top. Inserts work in conjunction with any autosampler and fit either standard or wide openings vials.
Waters also offers a selection of glass sample vials and plastic sample vials that fit most manufacturers’ instruments. Two of the most popular uses are as HPLC vials and GC vials. These chromatography vials can be used as sample storage vials by adding a solid caps with liner.
2. Screw 9mm (N9) HPLC Vial, Cap, Septa and Inserts . They are made with a 6.0mm opening. These vials are designed to work on most autosamplers that use 12mm x 32 mm crimp style vials. They offer the convenience of screw thread vials for instruments that were originally designed for crimp top vials. They are available in both clear and amber glass.

For example, 8-425 neck finish represents a vial with a diameter of 8 mm across the outside of the threads and a thread style of 425. Screw thread vials and caps are more expensive than crimp seals. Caps for screw thread vials are available with either an open hole for autosampler use and standard addition or with a solid top for sample storage.

Microvolume inserts are sold in both glass and polyproylene materials. Polypropylene inserts are recommended for pH-sensitive samples, greater solvent compatibility, biological samples, and ionic samples becasue of the material′s inertness.
Several styles are offered including flat bottom, concial inserts with a top spring or a bottom spring, and concial without springs.
